Cavalia Sneak Peek!
Last week I had the opportunity to be back stage with the horses of Cavalia. We were able to see the horses unload from the trailers that came from the last location of the show in San Francisco, California. I have to say I have never seen so many horses that looked so calm and relaxed about getting off the trailer and in such good condition and happy! Also impressive was the team of handlers and riders that helped to create a relaxed and extremely well organized environment. Once the horses were out of the truck, we were given a private tour of the stable area of all of the horse stars of the show. It was amazing to see incredible tents and the immaculate stalls. The horses were groomed impeccably and the atmosphere was wonderful!
I was also able to meet the founder and artistic director of Cavalia- Normand Latourelle, which was quite an honor. His vision and the production of the show is incredible, and my hat is off to him!
We then were invited to watch Sylvia Zerbini working with her 9 Arabian horses at liberty. The fluidity of their movement watching them trot around the tent warm up arena was nothing less than magical. The connection that I saw between Ms. Zerbini and her horses brought tears to my eyes. The horses looked like water flowing in a river as they cantered past the media viewing stations. We could feel the light breeze created by the beautiful horses as they sailed by. Her horses ranged in age from 3 to 10 years old and three stallions were in the mix. They were all colors of white and gray with one black stallion among the heard of white! All I can say after this is that you have to come and see this show!
As if that magical demonstration was not enough, we were also treated to an incredible demonstration in Roman Riding by Fairland Ferguson! She really showed us how Roman Riding is done! Lori Brown Smith- my Certified Instructor is now inspired to start practicing with her two Arabians Roman Riding – I am sure this will be quite a journey- but it will be fun!
I have included photos that Lori took on this amazing media day! One is of me with Normand Latourelle, and another with Sylvia Zerbini and me. Enjoy!
For all of you who live in the Southern California area, the traveling horse show Cavalia has returned! It is one of the best shows I have ever seen and should not be missed! I have been lucky enough to have seen the show in years past, but I am looking forward to seeing this new version of the show. Hope to see you there!
Remember to report any new horse and human sightings! May the horse be with you!
